I hear loud clicking when I turn and accelerate — is the CV axle the problem?
Loud clicking or snapping when cutting the wheel under acceleration is a common sign of a worn outer CV joint. If a failed outer joint is the cause, this assembly replaces it. Diagnose the noise before replacing.
Does this axle come with a new axle nut?
Yes. A new hex axle retaining nut (M27x2.0) is supplied with every unit. A prevailing-torque lock nut should never be reused, so always discard the old nut and install the new one.
