CARDONE Reman Disc Brake Caliper P/N:18-5324
Bring fresh seals and a pressure-tested body back to your rear brakes with the A1 CARDONE brake caliper 18-4943, a remanufactured unloaded disc brake caliper for the rear left position. It fits many vehicles, among them the 2005-2010 Ford Escape, 2005-2011 Mercury Mariner and 2008-2009 Mazda Tribute. See the Buyer's Guide tab for the full list and engine details.
CARDONE remanufactures each caliper to strict quality and performance standards and fits it with new components. It is a direct-fit replacement for the listed applications.
This is an unloaded caliper, so brake pads are not included. Depending on the application, a mounting bracket, banjo bolts, washers, stainless steel hardware clips and mounting pins may also be included. Replacing both rear calipers together is recommended for even braking. After installation, bleed the brake system as the vehicle service information directs.
CARDONE's remanufacturing process uses 80% less energy and raw material than building a new part.

What does a brake caliper do?
Hydraulic pressure from the brake pedal pushes the caliper's piston, which clamps the pads against the rotor. The 18-4943 serves the rear left wheel.
Is this the right rear left caliper for a 2005-2010 Ford Escape?
Yes. It is listed as a direct-fit rear left replacement for the 2005-2010 Ford Escape. Check the Buyer's Guide tab to confirm your exact vehicle.
Is this also a 2008-2009 Mazda Tribute brake caliper, and does it fit the 2005-2011 Mercury Mariner?
Yes. It is listed for the 2008-2009 Mazda Tribute and the 2005-2011 Mercury Mariner. See the Buyer's Guide tab for other applications.
What comes with this A1 CARDONE caliper?
It is an unloaded caliper, so pads are not included. It comes with new bleeder screws and cap-plugged brake port threads; a bracket, banjo bolt, washers, clips and pins are included only where applicable.
What are signs a brake caliper may need replacing?
Possible signs include pulling to one side, a dragging or sticking brake, fluid leaking at the caliper, or uneven pad wear. Diagnose the cause first, because other brake parts can cause the same symptoms.
