Designed for consistent clamping at the rear right wheel, the A1 CARDONE 18-B5265 is a remanufactured 2010-2012 Ford Taurus brake caliper that installs as a direct-fit replacement on that car and the 2012 Lincoln MKS. As a disc brake caliper, it houses the piston that presses the pads against the rotor when you brake.
This A1 CARDONE caliper ships unloaded, so brake pads are not included, and it comes with its mounting bracket. As a remanufactured original equipment part, it is designed to match the factory caliper's fit.
- Pressure-tested: every unit is 100% pressure-tested and fitted with brand-new components.
- New seals and pistons: new high-temperature EPDM rubber seals, and pistons built to resist cracking and pitting and to handle heavy loads.
- Rust protection: treated with a specially formulated rust inhibitor and kept in the original equipment finish.
- Bleeding and ports: new bleeder screws for trouble-free bleeding and a positive seal, and a plastic cap plug protects every brake port thread.
New banjo bolts, washers, stainless steel hardware clips and mounting pins are supplied where the application calls for them. CARDONE says its remanufacturing process cuts the energy and raw material needed to make a new part by 80%.
Signs a caliper may need replacing include fluid seeping at the caliper, the vehicle pulling to one side, uneven pad wear or a dragging brake.
