CARDONE Reman Disc Brake Caliper P/N:19-2838
Replace a leaking or sticking rear left caliper with the A1 CARDONE caliper 19-1597, a remanufactured unit that installs as a direct-fit replacement for the 1993-1997 Ford Probe, 1993-2002 Mazda 626 and 1993-1997 Mazda MX-6. This is an unloaded caliper, so brake pads are not included, and every unit is 100% pressure-tested.
As a disc brake caliper, it uses hydraulic pressure from the brake system to press the pads against the rotor. Fluid leaks, a dragging brake or a pull to one side can be signs that a caliper may need replacing. If the rear left brake caliper on the 1993-1997 Ford Probe, 1993-2002 Mazda 626 or 1993-1997 Mazda MX-6 is the cause, this unit replaces it. The caliper is remanufactured from an original equipment unit, and the remanufacturing process cuts the energy and raw material needed to make a new part by 80%. It is sold individually, and replacing the calipers on both sides of the axle together is commonly recommended for balanced braking. See the Buyer's Guide tab for engine details.

What does the A1 CARDONE 19-1597 caliper do?
It uses hydraulic pressure from the brake system to squeeze the pads against the rotor at the rear left wheel, which slows the vehicle when you press the brake pedal.
Does this caliper come with brake pads?
No. It is an unloaded caliper, so brake pads are not included. A mounting bracket, banjo bolts, washers, hardware clips and mounting pins are included where applicable.
Is this the right brake caliper for a 1993-2002 Mazda 626?
It is a direct-fit replacement for the rear left position on the 1993-2002 Mazda 626. See the Buyer's Guide tab for engine details.
How is this caliper remanufactured?
The rubber seals are replaced with new high-temperature EPDM rubber, and a new bleeder screw is used. The unit is treated with a rust inhibitor, and every caliper is 100% pressure-tested.
What are signs a brake caliper may need replacing?
Brake fluid leaking at the wheel, a dragging brake, uneven pad wear or a pull to one side can be signs of a caliper problem. Other parts can cause these too, so diagnose the cause before replacing.
