Does this caliper include brake pads?
No. This is an unloaded caliper, so brake pads and a pad wear sensor are not included. It does include the mounting bracket and a complete hardware kit with a new bleeder screw.
Can I switch a steel-piston caliper for a phenolic one, or vice versa?
It is not recommended. The OE manufacturers specified steel or phenolic pistons based on the vehicle's intended use; follow the manufacturer's recommendation. This unit has a steel piston.
What type of brake fluid should I use?
Use the brake fluid recommended by the OE. The correct type is stamped on the master cylinder reservoir lid. Always use fresh fluid from a sealed container.
Could a caliper cause a low brake pedal?
A low pedal commonly comes from air in the system, misadjusted rear shoes, a deteriorated brake hose, or a defective master cylinder. Diagnose those causes before assuming the caliper is at fault.
Why does the car pull to one side when braking?
Inspect both calipers for binding or sticky slides and pins, confirm the brake hoses are not collapsed or restricted, and check the steering and suspension components for proper operation.
