It works as both a front and rear caliper piston on the listed applications.
Inside the caliper, the piston is the moving component that transfers hydraulic fluid pressure from the master cylinder into clamping force, pushing the brake pad against the rotor when you apply the brakes. A corroded, scored, or seized piston can cause dragging brakes, uneven pad wear, or a caliper that won't retract or extend properly.
