The brake hose is the flexible link in the hydraulic brake system. It carries pressurized brake fluid to the brake at the wheel while allowing for steering and suspension movement. Signs this part may need replacing include visible cracks, bulging, fluid seepage at the hose or its fittings, or a soft or spongy brake pedal. Other components can cause the same symptoms, so diagnose the cause before replacing.
