A brake hose may need replacing if it shows cracking, swelling or bulging, or fluid seepage at the ends. A soft or spongy pedal, or a vehicle that pulls to one side under braking, may also be a sign of a worn hose. These symptoms can have other causes, so inspect the whole brake system before replacing parts. After installation, bleed the hydraulic system as directed in the vehicle service information.
