A worn lower hose can show up as coolant drips, a hose that feels soft or collapses when squeezed, or a coolant level that keeps dropping. A leak can also start at a clamp or at the radiator, so with the engine off and cool, look the hose over for cracks, bulges and wet stains at its ends before you replace it.
