A fuel pump strainer mounts at the pump inlet and screens debris from the fuel before it is drawn into the pump. Delphi is a Tier 1 supplier to the majority of global vehicle manufacturers and has built fuel pumps and fuel delivery parts for more than 80 years.

• Replace it with the pump: Delphi recommends always replacing the strainer whenever the fuel pump is replaced.

Signs a strainer may need replacing include hesitation or stalling under load, hard starting, or a noisy fuel pump. If a clogged strainer is restricting fuel flow, this part replaces it. Diagnose the fuel system before replacing parts, because these symptoms can have other causes.
