This rear left cable installs as a direct-fit replacement for the 1999-2004 Ford F-350, F-350 Super Duty and F-450 Super Duty, plus the 2000-2004 F-550 Super Duty (all engines). It mechanically transmits the parking brake lever/pedal force to the rear brake so the brake can apply and release; if a stretched, frayed, or seized original cable is the cause of a parking brake that won't hold or won't fully release, this replaces it.
