Description

Help keep the wiper blade held firmly against the glass with the Dorman - HELP Windshield Wiper Arm 42579, a Dorman windshield wiper arm cataloged for the front right position. It fits many vehicles, among them the 1995-1998 Chevrolet C1500, 1995-1998 Chevrolet K1500 and 1995-1998 Chevrolet Tahoe. See the "Vehicles it fits" section for the full list.

Direct replacement: Designed to match the original arm's fit and function on the listed applications.
Replaces a worn arm: A dependable option when the original arm has lost spring tension, been damaged by snow, or suffered metal fatigue.
Durable construction: Made from quality materials and engineered for durability and dependable performance.
Backed by experience: Supported by Dorman's team of product experts in the United States and more than a century of automotive experience.

The wiper arm links the blade to the wiper pivot, and its spring presses the blade against the windshield as it sweeps. A weak spring, a bent arm or an arm that has worked loose can let the blade lift, chatter or leave unwiped areas. These are signs the arm may need replacing. If a failed front right arm is the cause, this Dorman arm replaces it.

Buyer's Q&A

Frequently Asked Questions

What does a windshield wiper arm do?

The arm connects the wiper blade to the wiper pivot. Its spring tension holds the blade against the glass as it sweeps across the windshield.

Which position does the Dorman wiper arm 42579 fit?

It is cataloged for the front right windshield wiper arm position on the listed applications.

Is this the right Chevy Tahoe windshield wiper arm for my 1995-1998 Tahoe?

Yes. The 42579 is listed for the front right position on the 1995-1998 Chevrolet Tahoe. The "Vehicles it fits" section shows every vehicle it fits.

What are signs a wiper arm may need replacing?

A weak spring, an arm bent by snow or ice, or an arm loose on its pivot can let the blade lift, chatter or streak. Worn blades cause similar symptoms, so inspect the arm first.

How is the wiper arm installed?

It mounts on the wiper pivot in place of the original arm. Note the old arm's resting position before removing it, and follow the vehicle service information for fasteners and torque.
