Dorman - OE Solutions Drive Shaft P/N:976-493
Dorman 976-899 rear drive shaft for the 1975-1979 Chevrolet K5 Blazer and other vehicles carries engine torque to the rear axle. It is a one-piece steel assembly.
A vibration at speed, a clunk when you accelerate or let off, or a squeak from the U-joints can mean the shaft or its joints are worn. These signs alone do not prove the drive shaft is the problem, since out-of-balance tires can cause a similar vibration, so find the cause before replacing it. The rear driveline takes one shaft.
It fits the 1975-1979 Chevrolet K5 Blazer, the 1973-1979 GMC Jimmy and the 1973-1974 Chevrolet Blazer.
