Send accurate camshaft timing data back to your engine's computer with the Dorman - OE Solutions Engine Camshaft Position Sensor 962-055, a direct-fit DORMAN sensor for the 2013-2022 Chevrolet Malibu, 2016-2023 Chevrolet Camaro, 2013-2019 Cadillac ATS and many other GM applications. This engine camshaft position sensor reads the rotating camshaft and reports its position to the engine control unit, which uses that input to manage fuel injection and ignition timing. If a failed original sensor is the cause of a hard start, no-start, stalling, or a check-engine light, replacing it with this unit restores the proper signal.

  • Direct replacement: engineered to drop in like the original sensor on the listed vehicles so the engine control unit receives proper inputs after an original has failed from heat or internal component damage.
  • Build: three blade-style female terminals with a male oval connector, 12-volt DC operation, and a plastic sensor casing.
  • Included: ships with a rubber gasket/seal and mounting hardware for bolt-on installation (no mounting bracket, wiring harness, or wire leads).

Standard-replacement grade. Looking for a straightforward chevy Malibu sensor or another GM Malibu sensor swap? See the Buyer's Guide tab for the full list of covered years, makes, models, and engines (L4-2.0L and L4-2.5L). Country of origin: China.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does the Dorman 962-055 camshaft position sensor do?

It reads the rotating camshaft's position and reports it to the engine control unit, which uses that input to manage fuel injection and ignition timing.

Will this sensor fit my Chevy Malibu?

It is a direct-fit replacement for the 2013-2022 Chevrolet Malibu (L4-2.0L) and 2013-2015 Malibu (L4-2.5L), plus many other GM applications. Check the Buyer's Guide tab for your exact year and engine.

Does it include a gasket and mounting hardware?

Yes. It ships with a rubber gasket/seal and mounting hardware for bolt-on installation. It does not include a mounting bracket, wiring harness, or wire leads.

How many sensors do I need per vehicle?

The fitment data lists two of these sensors per vehicle for the covered applications, and each package contains one sensor—order two for a complete replacement.

What are signs the camshaft position sensor may need replacing?

Common signs include a hard start or no-start, stalling, rough running, or a check-engine light. Diagnose the cause first; if a failed original sensor is to blame, this replaces it.
