Dorman 917-045 oil filter cover for the 2006-2010 Volkswagen Passat and other vehicles closes the oil filter housing and replaces an original cap that has cracked or stripped.

  • Direct replacement for the original equipment filter cover
  • Part of the Dorman OE Solutions line
  • Plastic construction designed to withstand extreme underhood temperatures and resist cracking and leaking
  • Extensively tested for a quality fit and long service life
  • No special tools required to install

A cracked or stripped engine oil filter cover can make oil changes difficult, and a cracked one can seep oil around the housing. With the engine off and cool, look over the old cover for cracks and for oil residue at the housing. If the oil is coming from somewhere else, a new cover will not fix it.

It also fits the 2002-2004 Volkswagen Jetta and the 2002-2005 Volkswagen Golf, along with other Volkswagen, Audi and Seat models. If your car isn't named here, look up your year and engine on the Buyer's Guide tab.
