A hood release cable may need replacing if the handle pulls loosely and the latch does not respond, if the hood will not release, or if the handle is broken. A sticking or damaged hood latch can cause similar symptoms, so inspect the latch as well. If the cable is the cause, this Dorman hood cable replaces it. Consult the vehicle service information for cable routing and installation steps.
