Help your climate controls send air to the vents you choose with the Dorman heater control cable, part number 926-822, a direct-fit replacement for the 2012-2020 Chevrolet Sonic and 2015-2021 Chevrolet Trax. Dorman's own description calls it an HVAC mode control cable, so you may find it listed under both names.
This HVAC heater control cable carries movement from the dash control to the heater and A/C case. There it positions the mode door that directs airflow among the vent outlets. When the cable wears or breaks, the mode setting you select may no longer reach the door.
- Direct replacement: Built to install and operate like the original cable on the listed Sonic and Trax applications.
- Replaces a failed cable: Intended to take the place of an original cable that has failed from heat and fatigue.
- Durable construction: Made from quality materials for dependable performance.
- Trustworthy quality: Supported by Dorman's team of product experts in the United States and more than a century of automotive experience.
Signs this cable may need replacing include airflow that stays at one outlet no matter which mode is selected, a mode control that feels loose, stiff or disconnected, and a visibly broken or kinked cable. A sticking door or a faulty control panel can cause similar symptoms, so diagnose the cause before replacing the cable. Full application details are in the "Vehicles it fits" section.
