Dorman 686-457 front left steering knuckle for the 2016-2020 Nissan Rogue and other vehicles replaces a knuckle that has rusted fast to the wheel hub bearing. Rust can grow between the knuckle and the bearing until the two seize together, which is common in Salt Belt regions but can also happen over time in normal use.

A knuckle that has rusted fast to the hub bearing, or one that is cracked or damaged, can mean it needs replacing. Noise or play at the wheel alone does not prove the knuckle is the problem; a worn wheel bearing is another common cause. The 2016-2020 Nissan Rogue takes one knuckle at the front left. The front right is a separate part ordered separately, and both sides are normally replaced together.
