Are the pads ceramic?
Yes. The DFC 5000 pads are a 100% asbestos-free ceramic formulation with rubber-steel-rubber shims, running cleaner with less dust and quieter operation than semi-metallic pads in everyday driving.
Do the rotors need cleaning before install?
No. The GEOSPEC-coated rotors are processed dry and shipped dry, ready to install with no additional degreasing preparation. The coating is safely swept away by the pads during bed-in.
What does the GEOSPEC coating do?
It's a special silver-gray paint finish that DFC states provides corrosion protection superior to conventional paint or zinc coatings, helping the rotor resist rust.
