Dynamic Friction Company Disc Brake Rotor P/N:600-31117
Designed for smoother stopping at the rear axle, the DYNAMIC FRICTION brake rotor 900-31117 is a carbon alloy, GEOMET® coated rotor that is 100% precision mill-balanced. It fits many vehicles as a direct-fit rear replacement, including the 2007-2013 BMW 328I, 2016-2020 BMW 420I and 2017-2020 BMW 430I. See the Buyer's Guide tab for the full list and engine details.
The rotor follows an original equipment (OE) vane configuration, designed for proper heat dissipation as the pads clamp the rotor during each stop. Signs a rear rotor may need replacing include a pulsating brake pedal, vibration when braking, deep grooves or scoring, or wear below the minimum thickness. Diagnose the cause before replacing parts. For even, balanced braking, we recommend replacing both rear rotors together as a matched pair.
Which BMW 328I rotors does this DYNAMIC FRICTION part replace?
It is listed as a rear rotor for the 2007-2013 BMW 328I and also fits models such as the 2016-2020 BMW 420I and 2017-2020 BMW 430I. The Buyer's Guide tab shows every listed vehicle.
What does a disc brake rotor do?
It turns with the wheel and gives the brake pads a surface to clamp, converting motion into heat to slow the vehicle. This rotor uses an OE vane configuration designed for heat dissipation.
What is the GEOMET® coating for?
Dynamic Friction applies a GEOMET® coating to this carbon alloy rotor to provide corrosion protection.
What signs suggest my rear rotors may need replacing?
Common signs are a pulsating brake pedal, vibration when braking, deep grooves or scoring, or a rotor worn below its minimum thickness. Diagnose the cause before replacing parts.
Should I replace both rear rotors at the same time?
Yes. Replacing both rear rotors together as a matched pair is recommended for even, balanced braking. The 16 RMS fine turned finish is intended to help with initial rotor and pad break-in.
