Each shoe carries a semi-metallic friction lining that presses outward against the inside of the brake drum to slow the vehicle, then retracts when you release the pedal.

• 100% new carbon steel shoes: dipped in high-temperature anti-rust black paint for corrosion resistance.
• Semi-metallic friction material: bonded or riveted per OE specifications, with a glue-lining treatment that promotes strong friction-material-to-steel bonding.
