It drops in as a direct-fit replacement for the 2004-2007 Ford Freestar and 2004-2007 Mercury Monterey — see the Buyer's Guide tab for engine-level details. Positioned on the low-pressure side, the accumulator/filter drier stores refrigerant and traps moisture and contaminants that flushing alone can't remove, protecting the rest of the components downstream.
