This part cross-references / interchanges with the following part numbers:
What does this accumulator do?
It acts as a filter drier, removing moisture and contaminants from the A/C system using a desiccant bag. These contaminants can't be removed by flushing, so replacing the unit during service is essential.
Does it come with the seals and o-rings needed to install?
Yes. The necessary gaskets, o-rings and seal are included for installation. Consult the vehicle service information for the correct A/C service procedure and torque specs.
Which vehicles does the 83089 fit?
It's a direct-fit replacement for the 2008-2010 Ford F250, F350, HD F-450 Super Duty, and the 2008-2010 Ford F-250, F-350, F-450 and F-550 Super Duty. See the Buyer's Guide tab for the full list.
Do I really need to replace the accumulator when servicing the A/C?
Four Seasons notes replacement is required to validate the compressor warranty and any time the system is opened. A leaking or open system can saturate the desiccant within hours, making the unit ineffective.
Why can't I just flush the old accumulator?
The contaminants and moisture the accumulator/filter drier collects cannot be removed by flushing. Replacing the unit is the intended way to restore proper filtering and moisture control.
