Four Seasons A/C Receiver Drier P/N:83180
Keep moisture and debris out of your vintage A/C system with the Four Seasons A/C Receiver Drier / Filter Drier (MPN 33274). This steel filter drier is a direct-fit replacement for the 1967-1968 Ford Mustang and Mercury Cougar, the 1971 Ford Maverick, the 1971 Ford Maverick (CAR), and the 1971 Mercury Comet — see the "Vehicles it fits" section for the full application list and engine details.
The receiver / filter drier removes moisture and contaminants that would otherwise circulate through the air conditioning system. Because a leaking or "open" system can saturate the desiccant within a few hours, the drier should be replaced any time the system is opened or serviced. Four Seasons also notes that replacing the drier is required to validate the compressor warranty. Backed by decades of mobile A/C experience and produced in an ISO/TS16949 and ISO14001 certified facility, this unit is engineered for long-lasting performance.
What does this receiver drier / filter drier do?
It filters moisture and contaminants from the A/C refrigerant using a desiccant. Because those contaminants can't be removed by flushing, replacing the drier is essential when the system is serviced.
Does it include installation hardware?
Yes. The necessary gaskets, O-rings, and seal are included for installation.
What is it made of?
It's a steel filter drier built with quality welds for a durable, leak-free design.
Which vehicles does it fit?
It fits the 1967-1968 Ford Mustang and Mercury Cougar, plus the 1971 Ford Maverick, Ford Maverick (CAR), and Mercury Comet. Check the "Vehicles it fits" section for the complete list.
Do I need to replace it whenever the A/C is serviced?
Four Seasons notes the drier must be replaced any time the system is opened or serviced, and replacement is required to validate the compressor warranty.
