See the Buyer's Guide tab for engine specifics.
The filter drier removes moisture and contaminants from the refrigerant circuit — debris that flushing cannot clear — using an internal desiccant bag to absorb moisture. When the desiccant is saturated or the system has been open, the drier can no longer protect the components downstream, which is why replacement is called for whenever the system is serviced.
Produced in an ISO/TS16949 and ISO14001 certified facility, backed by Four Seasons' 50-plus years of mobile A/C experience. Replacing the drier any time the system is opened also helps satisfy compressor warranty requirements.
What does this receiver / filter drier do?
It removes moisture and contaminants from the A/C refrigerant and holds an internal desiccant to absorb moisture, protecting the system's components. It cannot clear debris the way flushing can, so replacement is needed.
Does it include installation hardware?
Yes. Per Four Seasons, the necessary gaskets, o-rings, and seal are included for installation.
What is it made of?
It is a steel filter drier, built with quality welds for a durable, leak-free design.
When should the drier be replaced?
It should be replaced any time the A/C system is opened or serviced. An open or leaking system can saturate the desiccant within hours, making the drier ineffective.
Which vehicles does MPN 33396 fit?
It is a direct-fit replacement for the listed Mercedes-Benz models, including the 230, 230S, 230SL, 240D, 280CE, 280E, 300CD, 300D, and 300TD. Check the Buyer's Guide tab to confirm your year.
