The suction (low-side) hose carries refrigerant vapor from the evaporator outlet to the compressor inlet. Signs this line may need replacing include a refrigerant leak, oily residue at the fittings, or weak A/C cooling traced to a compromised suction hose. Diagnose the cause of your A/C issue before replacing, and evacuate and recharge the system per the service procedure.
