The blower motor resistor controls how much current reaches the blower motor, which lets the fan run at its different speed settings. The catalog lists this part as a switch, and Four Seasons calls it an HVAC blower motor resistor. Both names refer to the same part.
Possible signs this part may need replacing include a blower that runs only on high or skips one or more speed settings. Because the control switch, wiring or motor can cause the same symptoms, diagnose the cause before you replace any part. If a failed resistor is the cause, this part replaces it.
