Four Seasons 36678 switch for the 1994-2002 Cadillac Eldorado and other vehicles is a system-mounted high cut-out pressure switch, designed to cut out the A/C circuit when system pressure climbs too high.

An A/C that will not engage, or that shuts off unexpectedly, can come from a failing pressure switch, but low refrigerant or a wiring fault can look the same. Before replacing the switch, look over its body and connector with the engine off for corrosion, damage or oily residue. Pressure testing needs gauges on the A/C system, so leave that to a shop.
