    • Also called: engine coolant thermostat
    • Fits: the 1987-1990 Jeep Wrangler 6-cylinder 4.2L, the 1987-1995 Wrangler 4-cylinder 2.5L, the 1991-1995 Wrangler 6-cylinder 4.0L and other vehicles and equipment

A thermostat that sticks open or closed can show up as an engine that overheats, runs cold or is slow to warm up. Before you replace the thermostat, rule out a coolant leak, a weak radiator cap or a faulty temperature sensor, since each of those can also send the gauge high or low. The 1991-1995 Jeep Wrangler 6-cylinder 4.0L takes one thermostat.

    Fits

    It is a direct-fit thermostat for the 1992-1995 GMC Yukon V8 5.7L and for the 1975-1976 Ford F-150 V8 5.9L or 6.4L, the 1975-1979 F-150 V8 7.5L, the 1975-1995 F-150 6-cylinder 4.9L or V8 5.0L, the 1977-1979 F-150 V8 5.8L and the 1982-1995 F-150 V8 5.8L, as well as the Wranglers above.
