Keep your engine at its correct operating temperature with the Gates Engine Coolant Thermostat 33877, an OE Type thermostat that opens and closes to regulate coolant flow between the engine and radiator. It's a direct-fit replacement for many vehicles, including the 1995-1999 Honda Accord — see the "Vehicles it fits" section for the full list and engine details.
- Precise temperature control: engineered to deliver accurate coolant regulation and a leak-free, OEM-equivalent fit.
- Calibrated at the factory: quality-controlled calibration keeps opening and closing accurate regardless of pressure changes.
- OEM fit, function and design: built for precise engine cooling that matches the original.
- Jiggle pin included: vents trapped air during fill, and the included seals and gaskets make it equivalent to the original equipment part.
If a thermostat stuck open (slow warm-up, low temperature reading) or stuck closed (overheating) is the cause of your cooling trouble, this unit replaces it.

Frequently Asked Questions
What does this thermostat do?
It regulates coolant flow between the engine and radiator, staying closed until the engine reaches operating temperature, then opening to let coolant circulate for proper cooling.
Does the Gates 33877 fit my vehicle?
It's cataloged for many vehicles, including the 1995-1999 Honda Accord. Check the "Vehicles it fits" section to confirm your exact year and engine.
Does it include seals or gaskets?
Yes. Gates includes the seals and gaskets that make this thermostat equivalent to the original equipment part, along with a jiggle pin for air venting.
What is the jiggle pin for?
The jiggle pin vents trapped air from the cooling system during fill, helping prevent air pockets that can interfere with proper coolant circulation.
What are the signs a thermostat may need replacing?
Common signs include the engine overheating, running cooler than normal, slow warm-up, or erratic temperature readings. Diagnose the cause before replacing, as other cooling parts can produce similar symptoms.
