The purge solenoid mounts at the engine. It opens and closes to let stored vapor from the charcoal canister be drawn into the engine and burned. If a failed purge solenoid is the cause of an EVAP problem, replacing it with the PV412 helps return the Evaporative Emission Control system to proper operation.
