Hayden 1046 auto trans oil cooler for the 2012 Ford Mustang 5.4L and other vehicles is an aluminum, two-pass cooler that helps carry heat out of the oil. It is sold as the Swirl-Cool Engine Oil Cooler Kit, a universal cooler and not a direct OE replacement.

A failing auto trans oil cooler can show up as oil seepage at the fittings or core, or as dented or kinked lines. Before you replace it, look over the fittings and lines with the engine off and cool, since a loose connection can also leave oil residue. The 2012 Ford Mustang 5.4L takes one cooler.
