DISTRIBUTOR HEI
ACCEL
ACCEL 140003 ignition coil for the 1975-1976 Chevrolet Impala V8 6.6L or 7.4L, the 1975-1985 Impala V8 5.7L, the 1977-1979 Impala 6-cylinder 4.1L, the 1977-1985 Impala V8 5.0L, the 1980-1982 Impala V8 4.4L, the 1980-1984 Impala V6 3.8L, the 1985 Impala V6 4.3L and other vehicles is an HEI in-cap coil that raises battery voltage to the level the spark plugs need.
A weak coil can show up as hard starting, a rough idle, a misfire or a loss of power at high RPM. These signs alone do not prove the coil is at fault; worn spark plugs or a cracked distributor cap may be behind them instead.
The 1978-1983 Chevrolet Malibu V8 5.7L and the 1975-1981 Camaro V8 5.7L take one of these coils each, and it is a direct plug-in replacement across many more GM models. Owners of other GM cars can find their year, model and engine in the "Vehicles it fits" section.
