It installs as a direct-fit replacement for the 2003-2006 Kia Sorento (all engines), dropping into the blower circuit to regulate how much current reaches the blower motor across its lower and mid fan-speed settings.

A blower motor resistor adds resistance in the fan circuit so the HVAC blower can run at more than one speed. When it fails, the common signs are losing one or more of the lower or middle fan speeds — sometimes leaving the blower working only on its highest setting, or not running at all.
