A worn HVAC mode door actuator can show up as clicking behind the dash, or as air that stays on one vent setting when you change the mode. A damaged connector or linkage can produce similar symptoms, so with the engine off, look over the actuator's connector and linkage for damage before you replace it.
The 2001-2007 Toyota Highlander and 1999-2004 Toyota Avalon are among the vehicles this actuator fits, along with more Toyota and Lexus models. Open the "Vehicles it fits" section to find your own car and its engine.
