Tighten up your truck's ride and keep the rear suspension planted with the KYB Gas-a-just Suspension Shock Absorber 554360, a high-pressure monotube gas shock. It's a direct-fit replacement for the rear position on the 2003-2010 Dodge Ram 3500 and the 2011-2018 Ram 3500 (see the Buyer's Guide tab for engine-level fitment).

Unlike a traditional twin-tube design, the Gas-a-just monotube separates the gas and oil into two working chambers — an air-free hydraulic piston and valve area for control, plus a high-pressure nitrogen chamber with a floating piston. This layout is designed to resist fade from aeration and respond quickly for steering feel.

  • Monotube gas design: Separates gas and oil for fade-free operation and instant response.
  • Extra damping: Adds up to 25% more damping performance over original-equipment shocks, with components and valving designed specifically for Dodge Rams that work, tow, and run larger, heavier tires and wheels.
  • Triple chrome-plated piston rod: An ultra-smooth rod helps reduce seal wear, since fluid leaking can be a cause of shock failure.
  • Safety-system support: Helps keep electronic safety systems performing as the vehicle manufacturer designed.

Frequently Asked Questions

What vehicles does this shock fit?

It's a rear direct-fit replacement for the 2003-2010 Dodge Ram 3500 and 2011-2018 Ram 3500. Check the Buyer's Guide tab to confirm engine-level fitment for your truck.

Is this a front or rear shock?

This is a rear shock absorber for the listed applications.

What is a monotube gas shock?

It uses a single tube with separate gas and oil chambers and a floating piston. Separating gas and oil is designed to resist aeration fade and give quick, responsive damping.

How does the triple chrome-plated piston rod help?

Fluid leaking can be a cause of shock failure. The ultra-smooth triple chrome-plated rod is designed to reduce seal wear over the shaft.

Should I replace shocks in pairs?

Shocks are sold individually. Replacing both sides on the same axle together is a good practice for balanced ride and handling.
