KYB Suspension Shock Absorber P/N:SA1002
Keep your classic GM cruiser planted and controlled with the KYB Gas-a-just Suspension Shock Absorber KG4501, a high-pressure monotube gas shock offered as a front-position replacement. It fits the 1967-1978 Cadillac Eldorado and 1966-1978 Oldsmobile Toronado — see the Buyer's Guide tab for engine-level details.
Worn shocks may show up as excessive bounce, nose dive, or poor ride control — if the front shock is the cause, this replaces it. Sold individually; replace both sides together for balanced damping.

What vehicles does the KYB KG4501 fit?
It fits the front position on the 1967-1978 Cadillac Eldorado and 1966-1978 Oldsmobile Toronado. Check the Buyer's Guide tab to confirm fitment for your vehicle.
Is this a gas or hydraulic shock?
It is a high-pressure monotube gas shock. It uses an air-free hydraulic piston and valve area plus a high-pressure nitrogen gas chamber with a floating piston that keeps the gas and oil separated.
Why is the piston rod triple chrome plated?
The ultra-smooth triple chrome plated piston rod is designed to reduce seal wear. Since fluid leaking can be a cause of shock failure, this helps protect the seal.
How much damping does it add over OE?
KYB states the Gas-a-just adds up to 25% more damping performance over original equipment shocks, with components and valving designed specifically for classic GM cars.
Should I replace shocks in pairs?
This shock is sold individually. Replacing both sides on the axle together is recommended for balanced, even damping and consistent ride control.
