Firm up the front end and control every mile with the KYB Gas-a-just KYB shock absorber KG54309, a high-pressure monotube gas shock that mounts in the FRONT position. It installs as a direct-fit replacement for the 1995-2001 Ford Explorer, 2001-2003 Ford Explorer Sport, 2001-2005 Ford Explorer Sport Trac, 1998-2011 Ford Ranger, 1998-2007 Mazda B3000, 1998-2009 Mazda B4000, and 1997-2001 Mercury Mountaineer — see the Buyer's Guide tab for engine-level details.

• Gas-a-just monotube design: two separate chambers — an air-free hydraulic piston and valve area for responsiveness and control, plus a high-pressure nitrogen gas area with a floating piston — so it doesn't fade from aeration.
• High-pressure monotube: separates the gas and oil for fade-free operation and instant response, and the higher gas pressure helps improve steering response.
• Triple chrome plated piston rod: since fluid leaking can be a cause of shock failure, the ultra-smooth rod is designed to reduce seal wear.
• Extra damping: adds up to 25% more damping over original equipment shocks for vehicles that work, tow, and run larger, heavier tires and wheels; valving is designed specifically for Ford trucks.
