Description

Built to help a working truck stay controlled and responsive, the KYB shock absorber KG5497 is a high-pressure monotube gas shock for the front suspension. It fits many Ford vans, trucks and SUVs as a direct-fit replacement for the listed applications, among them the 2007 Ford E-150, 2003-2007 Ford E-250 and 1999-2007 Ford E-350 Super Duty. This KYB Gas-a-Just shock absorber offers performance advantages over a traditional twin-tube design. It adjusts instantly and automatically to your driving needs and is designed not to fade from aeration. Inside are two separate working chambers. One is an air-free hydraulic piston and valve area for responsiveness and control. The other holds high-pressure nitrogen gas behind a floating piston, which provides a comfortable ride in normal driving and adds performance on demand.

Up to 25% more damping: Delivers up to 25% more damping performance than original equipment shocks. It is intended for vehicles that work, tow, or run larger, heavier tires and wheels.
Fade-free monotube design: The high-pressure monotube keeps the gas and oil apart for fade-free operation and instant response.
Triple chrome-plated piston rod: Fluid leaks can cause a shock to fail. The ultra-smooth rod is designed to reduce seal wear.
Ford-specific valving: Components and valving are designed specifically for Ford trucks. The higher gas pressure responds quickly to help steering response.
