Upgrade the ride and control of your classic GM with the KYB Gas-a-just Shock Absorber (KG5504), a high-pressure monotube gas shock built for cars and trucks. This KYB shock absorber installs in the rear position and drops in as a direct-fit replacement for the listed applications, including the 1964-1973 Pontiac GTO, 1968-1977 Chevrolet Chevelle, 1968-1977 Oldsmobile Cutlass, 1973-1977 Buick Regal, and 1977-1996 Chevrolet Caprice — see the Buyer's Guide tab for the full list of 47 vehicles.

Monotube gas design: Two separate working chambers — an air-free hydraulic piston/valve area for responsiveness, plus a high-pressure nitrogen gas area with a floating piston — separate the gas and oil for fade-free operation and instant response.
Extra damping: KYB states it adds up to 25% more damping performance over original equipment shocks, with components and valving designed specifically for classic GM cars.
