Firm up ride control on your classic GM with the KYB Gas-a-just Suspension Shock Absorber KG5506, a high-pressure monotube gas shock. It installs as a direct-fit rear shock for the 1974-1975 Buick Apollo, 1975-1979 Buick Skylark, 1976-1979 Cadillac Seville, 1968 Chevrolet Chevy II, 1969-1979 Chevrolet Nova, 1974-1979 Oldsmobile Omega, 1977-1979 Pontiac Phoenix, and 1974-1977 Pontiac Ventura — see the Buyer's Guide tab for engine-level detail.

KYB's Gas-a-just monotube uses two separate working chambers: an air-free hydraulic piston and valve area for responsiveness and control, plus a high-pressure nitrogen gas area with a floating piston for a comfortable ride during normal driving and added performance on demand.

Monotube design: separates the gas and oil for fade-free operation and instant response.
Added damping: adds up to 25% more damping performance over original-equipment shocks, with components and valving designed specifically for classic GM cars.
Triple chrome-plated piston rod: ultra-smooth rod helps reduce seal wear, since fluid leaking can be a cause of shock failure.
Steering response: the higher gas pressure responds quickly to help improve steering response and helps keep Electronic Safety Systems performing as designed.
