Dial in your own ride control with the KYB AGX Damping Rate Adjustable Suspension Strut (P/N 735001) — a front strut engineered for enthusiasts who want to tune their setup without special tools. It's a direct-fit replacement for the 1982-1992 Chevrolet Camaro and 1982-1992 Pontiac Firebird (GM F-Body); see the Buyer's Guide tab for the full engine-level fitment.

The AGX lets you design your own performance, quickly and as often as you want. One simple adjustment increases both rebound and compression damping, so you can add up to 125% more damping force on your GM F-Body compared to the vehicle's OEM design.

  • Externally adjustable: change corner damping without lifting the vehicle or removing the tires; depending on application, it uses an eight-position knob or a four-position screwdriver slot — both offer the same capability.
  • Velocity-sensitive valving: precision multi-stage hydraulic valves react to driving conditions to help maintain tire contact and vehicle control on the street or track.
  • Built to last: a seamless working cylinder is matched with a Teflon-coated piston band for a positive seal and longer life.
  • ESC/ABS aware: engineered to help vehicles with electronic safety systems (ESC, ABS, etc.).

To reduce the chance of noise and vibration, KYB recommends installing new strut mounts, part numbers SM5027 & SM5028.

How is the AGX adjustable?

It's externally adjustable without lifting the vehicle or removing the tires. Depending on the application it uses an eight-position knob or a four-position screwdriver slot, and one adjustment changes both rebound and compression damping.

How much more damping can it add?
