Mevotech Supreme Coil Spring Insulator P/N:MK160036
Cushion the front lower coil springs and keep out metal-to-metal contact with the Mevotech Supreme Coil Spring Insulator MP904945. This front lower insulator drops in as a direct-fit replacement for many vehicles, among them the 1997-2005 Chevrolet Malibu, 1999-2005 Pontiac Grand Am and 1999-2004 Oldsmobile Alero — see the "Vehicles it fits" section for the full list.
Seated between the coil spring and its perch, the insulator pads the contact point to dampen road noise and vibration and to help protect the spring seat from wear caused by direct metal contact.
Cracked, flattened, or missing insulators can allow the spring to contact the seat directly, producing creaks, groans, or clunks over bumps. If a worn insulator is the cause, this part replaces it. Sold individually; inspect both sides and replace as needed.
