Take on hard-working miles with the Mevotech TTX ball joint TXK80141, a front lower joint designed for high-usage passenger vehicles, fleets and working trucks. It is a direct-fit replacement for the listed applications: the 2003-2011 Ford Crown Victoria, 2003-2011 Lincoln Town Car, 2003-2011 Mercury Grand Marquis and 2003-2004 Mercury Marauder.
Mevotech engineers its TTX line for toughness and durability. It pairs that line with Labor Saver designs, tools and hardware intended to make installation faster and easier. The ball joint is the pivot linking the lower control arm to the steering knuckle, which lets the wheel steer and travel with the suspension.
- Patented sintered bearings: designed for longer-lasting performance.
- Integri-Boot design: built into the ball joint assembly to help lock out moisture and contaminants.
- Larger sphere and thicker flange: an application-specific ball stud system with a larger sphere, plus a thicker, stronger flange designed to help prevent deformation during installation. Knurling gives a snugger fit between connecting points to help avoid distortion and corrosion.
- Installation hardware: a 90-degree SAE grease fitting is included for servicing, and a part-specific nylon locking nut is provided. Pre-applied nylok thread adhesive helps keep fasteners secure and resistant to vibration.
A front lower ball joint may need replacing if you notice clunking or knocking over bumps, loose or wandering steering, uneven tire wear, or visible play in the joint.
