MSD Distributor P/N:83541
MSD 8523 distributor for the 1968-1969 American Motors AMX V8 4.7L, 4.8L or 5.6L, the 1968-1970 AMX V8 6.4L, the 1970 AMX V8 5.9L and other vehicles has a built-in inductive module that makes the spark at the plug. Ready to run, this MSD Ignition distributor swaps out a worn breaker-points distributor and does not need an MSD Ignition Control.
A worn or failing distributor can show up as hard starting, a rough idle or a misfire. Before blaming it, look over the cap, rotor and wiring with the engine off and cool for cracks, burn marks or loose connections. If this distributor is the cause, it replaces the worn one.
The 1978-1979 American Motors Concord V8 5.0L and the 1978-1979 Pacer V8 5.0L are among the many American Motors models it fits. Don't see your car here? Find it in the "Vehicles it fits" section. This listing is one distributor, and each engine takes one.
