MSD 31179 spark plug wire set for the 1983-1998 Ford Ranger 2.8L / 2.9L / 3.0L / 4.0L and other vehicles gives you universal MSD IGNITION spark plug wires that you cut and route your own way, away from headers and through separators to the distributor cap.

• Universal fit for 6-cylinder engines with early type (socket) or late type (HEI) distributor caps
• Extra long 8.5mm wire, so you can cut it to the length your routing needs
• The MSD IGNITION spark plug wire set comes with the spark plug terminal and boot installed and the distributor end open
• Socket-style and spark plug-style boots and terminals are included for the distributor cap end

Worn wires can show up as a misfire, rough idle or hard starting, though worn plugs, a cap or a coil can produce a similar misfire. With the engine off and cool, look over the old wires for cracked boots, burn marks or chafed insulation before you decide to replace them.
