It is a direct-fit replacement for many listed Hyundai, Mitsubishi, Dodge, Plymouth and Eagle applications, including the 1990-1998 Hyundai Sonata and 1992-1995 Hyundai Elantra. See the Buyer's Guide tab for the full list of applications and engine details.
A transmission control solenoid is an electrically operated valve. It opens and closes on signals from the vehicle's electronic controls to direct transmission fluid through the valve body, which helps manage shift timing and hydraulic pressure.
Signs this part may need replacing include harsh or delayed shifts, erratic shifting, failure to upshift or downshift, or a transmission that stays in one gear. Other faults can cause these symptoms, so diagnose the transmission first. If a failed solenoid is the cause, the Pioneer 771033 replaces it.
