Help your automatic transmission's shifts respond to your right foot with the Pioneer Automatic Transmission Detent Cable CA-1935. It is a direct-fit replacement for many vehicles, among them the 1985-1992 Chevrolet Camaro, 1982-1986 Chevrolet Celebrity and 1984-1985 Chevrolet Citation II; see the Buyer's Guide tab for the full list and engine details. The cable links the throttle to the automatic transmission, so shift timing and downshifts can respond to how far the throttle is opened.
Pioneer describes its cables as a high-quality replacement alternative, built to OE specs:
- Steel inner cable: a durable steel inner cable carries the throttle signal to the transmission.
- Polymer outer housing: shields the cable from corrosion and abrasion.
- Built to OE specs: manufactured to OE specifications.
- Application-dependent hardware: depending on the application, Pioneer cables may include common brackets, grommets and ends.
Signs this part may need replacing: a frayed, kinked, binding or broken cable, harsh or delayed shifts, or no downshift when you press the pedal to the floor. Other transmission faults can cause similar symptoms, so diagnose the cause before replacing the cable. Follow the vehicle service information for routing and adjustment.
