Pioneer lists two conditions this kit is intended to repair. The first is heavy slipping caused by worn clutches or worn or damaged steel plates. The second is resealing a transmission because of leaks or disassembly. If worn clutch packs are behind the slipping, this kit supplies replacement friction and steel plates. Diagnose the cause before you begin, because slipping can have other sources and a rebuild may call for additional parts.
