Pioneer Automotive Industries Carburetor Accelerator Cable P/N:CA-8303
Replace a frayed, sticking or stretched throttle cable with the Pioneer Carburetor Accelerator Cable CA-8468. The cable links the accelerator pedal to the carburetor throttle linkage, and it is a direct-fit replacement for the listed applications, including the 1976-1985 Buick LeSabre, 1977-1986 Chevrolet K20, 1979-1986 GMC K2500, 1980-1984 Chevrolet Caprice and 1980-1985 Oldsmobile Delta 88. See the "Vehicles it fits" section for the full application list and engine details.
When you press the pedal, the inner cable slides inside its housing to open the carburetor throttle. When you release the pedal, the throttle returns toward idle. A cable that binds, kinks or frays can make the pedal feel stiff or slow the throttle's return to idle. If a worn cable is the cause, CA-8468 replaces it. Diagnose the throttle linkage and return springs as well, because they can produce similar symptoms.

This part cross-references / interchanges with the following part numbers:
What does a carburetor accelerator cable do?
It connects the accelerator pedal to the carburetor throttle linkage. Pressing the pedal pulls the cable to open the throttle, and releasing it lets the throttle return toward idle.
Which vehicles does Pioneer CA-8468 fit?
It fits listed Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet, GMC, Oldsmobile and Pontiac applications, including the 1976-1985 Buick LeSabre and 1979-1986 GMC K2500. See the "Vehicles it fits" section for the full list.
How is the CA-8468 cable constructed?
Pioneer builds it with a durable steel inner cable inside a polymer outer housing. The housing helps protect the cable from corrosion and abrasion.
What are signs an accelerator cable may need replacing?
Common signs are a stiff or sticking pedal, a throttle that is slow to return to idle, or a frayed, kinked or broken cable. Diagnose first, because the linkage or return springs can also be the cause.
Does it come with brackets or grommets?
Pioneer cables often include common brackets, grommets and ends where applicable. For any piece not supplied, transfer or replace it as directed by the vehicle's service procedure.
